Gray regions denote data gaps, mostly due to meteorological clouds masking SO2 at lower assumed altitudes, and are more apparent in the TRL data due to the lower a-priori SO2 center of mass altitude. The OMI row anomaly can also result in data gaps (and hence SO2 mass underestimation) depending on the date and viewing geometry.
