Volcanic hazards map for Mount Hood, U.S.A, illustrating lahar hazard using a single transparent colour and lahar travel times (red contoured numbers) (Preppernau and Jenny 2016). This is also an example of a map with a 3D perspective view digital terrain model as base map. This map was not produced with anyone affiliated with the U.S Geological Survey (and is therefore one of the few examples entered in the survey that is not an official or operational volcanic hazard map).
